Halifax is where we are based, and the peninsula is a renovation market of its own — South End and North End homes largely built before the 1930s, wood framed, often with plaster and lath, knob-and-tube still turning up behind walls, and floor plans laid out when kitchens were meant to be closed off. Off the peninsula the stock changes completely, from Clayton Park apartments and post-war bungalows out to newer subdivision builds. The two ends of that market need very different work, and we do both.
Conditions matter here: hRM covers everything from exposed harbour-front lots to sheltered inland subdivisions, and the housing runs from pre-1930 peninsula stock to builds finished last year. On a framing job that is not academic, because wind uplift and snow load decide how the connections and the load path get detailed.

Walk and hand-off
We walk the frame with you before it disappears behind insulation, note anything the following trades need to know, and leave the site swept.

Yes, and it is common work for us. The complication is usually what we find at the tie-in: balloon framing, undersized or notched joists, or a floor that has settled. We open it up, tell you what is actually there, and price the correction separately so you can decide how far to take it.
Sometimes, and it depends on why. Settlement at a beam or post can often be corrected with jacking and new support; a floor that was framed undersized a century ago is a bigger structural conversation. We will tell you which one you have before you commit to a budget, not after.
