Whole-Home — Nova Scotia, NB & PEI
Full Home Renovations.
One project, one schedule, one person to call.
Overview
One project, one schedule, one person to call.
A whole-home renovation is not several small renovations happening near each other. It is one sequence, and the order is the project — structure before mechanical, mechanical before insulation, insulation before drywall, and every finish trade after that in a queue where one late arrival moves everything behind it. Most renovations that drag on for a year do so because nobody owned the sequence.
That is the case for running it through one contractor. We do the trades in house, so the handoffs happen inside one company rather than between five subcontractors who each have another job and their own calendar. You get one point of contact who knows what happened last week and what is booked for next, rather than a group chat where everyone is waiting on someone else.
Older Nova Scotia homes make this more interesting. Knob-and-tube wiring, plaster and lath, balloon framing, a chimney nobody has used since the eighties, and a floor plan that made sense when kitchens were separate rooms. We open things up in stages and tell you what we find as we find it, priced as a written change order before we act on it — because the worst version of this project is the one where the budget moves and nobody says anything until the invoice.
Typical range
Quoted after a site visit
We have not published a range for this trade yet. Every job is quoted line by line after a site visit.
What’s included
Six things you are buying.
Concrete deliverables, not adjectives. Each of these is on the quote.

- One written scope, one line-item quote and one schedule across every trade
- Structural work, mechanical rough-in, insulation and finishes sequenced in order
- Trades kept in house so handoffs do not depend on somebody else’s calendar
- Permit applications handled with your municipality rather than left with you
- Written change orders — nothing changes the price without your signature first
- Weekly progress updates and a deficiency walk before final payment
How it runs
Four stages, start to finish.
- 01
Walk-through and scope
We walk the whole house with you, agree what is in and out of scope room by room, and put it in writing before any number is attached to it.
- 02
Quote and schedule
A line-item quote against that scope, plus a realistic sequence with the long-lead items identified — because cabinetry and windows control the calendar, not labour.
- 03
Build in sequence
Demolition, structure, mechanical rough-in, insulation, drywall, then finishes — with weekly updates and written change orders for anything we uncover.
- 04
Deficiency walk and close
We walk the finished job with you, list every deficiency you find, fix them, and then invoice the final payment. Not the other way around.

Questions
Whole-Home, answered.
Sometimes, and it depends on scope and on how many bathrooms and kitchens you have. It is generally slower and slightly more expensive to work around an occupied house — dust control, protecting routes, and packing up each day are real work. We will tell you honestly what living there will actually be like week by week so you can decide.
We expect them and we open things up in stages so they surface early. When we find something — knob-and-tube, a notched beam, water damage — we photograph it, show you, and price it as a written change order before doing the work. Nothing changes the contract price without your signature. That is the whole mechanism for keeping a budget honest.
We do. Requirements differ between HRM and the smaller municipalities we work in, so we confirm what your project needs, submit the application, and book inspections at the right points in the schedule. You are not the one figuring out which department to call.
Too dependent on scope for a number to be meaningful, and anyone giving you one before walking the house is guessing. The drivers are how much structural and mechanical work is involved, whether kitchens and bathrooms are in scope, the age and condition of what is already there, and finish level. We walk it, write the scope, and quote line by line — and the contingency for an older home is a visible line, not a hidden markup.
