Flat walls, controlled dust, sprayer-ready finish.
Drywall is judged under one condition that hides nothing: a light at a low angle across a long wall. Everything a taper did or skipped shows up there. We hang board with the joints planned rather than wherever the sheet lands, back everything properly, and build coats out wide enough that the transitions disappear instead of telegraphing.
We work to a stated finish level so you know what you are buying. Level 4 is the standard for most walls and takes flat paint or a light texture without complaint. Level 5 — a skim coat over the whole surface — is what you want under gloss paint, under raking light from a big window, or on a long uninterrupted wall. Specifying which you need is a five-minute conversation that prevents an argument at the end.
Most of our drywall work happens in houses people are still living in. That makes dust the real project risk, not the mud. We seal openings, run negative air where it makes sense, use dust-controlled sanding, and keep the traffic path from the door to the room covered. You should not be finding drywall dust in a bedroom two floors up in March.

How it runs

Protect and prep
Openings sealed, floors and traffic paths covered, furniture moved or wrapped. In an occupied house this step is half the job.

Hang
Board cut and hung with joint layout planned, correct board type by location, and backing added anywhere it is missing.
- 03
Tape and coat
Tape coat, fill coat, finish coat, corner bead set straight — each coat allowed to dry rather than rushed, and built out wide enough to disappear.
- 04
Sand and inspect
Dust-controlled sanding, then we check the whole surface under raking light with you before we call it done and clean up.

Level 4 finishes the joints, fasteners and corners — it is the normal standard and it is fine under flat or eggshell paint. Level 5 adds a skim coat across the entire surface, which is what you want under gloss or semi-gloss, on a long wall, or anywhere a window throws light across the surface at a low angle. We agree which one before we start.
Manageable, if it is planned for. We seal off the work area, cover the route from the door, and sand with dust-controlled equipment rather than a pole sander and an open window. It is not zero, but you should not be finding dust in rooms we never worked in.
Usually. Older stipple and knockdown ceilings can be blended, though an exact match on an aged surface is difficult and sometimes the honest answer is to redo the full ceiling rather than chase a patch that will always be visible. We will show you a test area before committing either way.
It scales with square footage of board, ceiling height, how many corners and openings there are, the finish level you choose, and whether the house is occupied — dust control and protection are real work. We quote by area and finish level so the choice between level 4 and level 5 has a visible price attached.
